The lotus flower symbolizes purity, enlightenment and regeneration. The very fact that these beautiful plants grow in muddy waters is quite astonishing. I often take photos of them when I travel and like many artists, can't resist painting them. I have used bold, deep colours, which have given the piece a beautiful rich feel.
This painting was used in the set of the award winning children's TV series 'The Bureau of Magical Things,' showing in over 180 countries.
