Coral Reef Fishbowl

DESCRIPTION

I really do enjoy the challenge of painting on glass or mirrored surfaces. It can be tricky, but I find it very rewarding, as the colours almost float over the surface. In this case, I have used this traditional shaped fishbowl as a 3D canvas. The composition is a busy underwater reef, complete with colourful coral, schools of tropical fish, octopus and other sea life busily swimming in and out of the coral and underwater rock formations. The piece would make a beautiful centrepiece for a sideboard or dining table. It has been primed and each acrylic colour used, was carefully blended with glass painting medium to ensure adhesion. It has been finished with a high gloss UV protective varnish.
