Holi Festival

A$2,950.00

DESCRIPTION

The Holi festival is India's festival of colours. It actually commemorates the victory of good over evil but also to give thanks for an abundant harvest season. I absolutely love the colours and the sheer joy of this colourful festival. The closest I've ever come to personally experiencing something like this, is when I did the "Mother's Day Colour Run," with my daughters a few years ago, here on the coast. It was invigorating, to run through the colours at the finish line! This piece has so many interesting characters in the crowds of people, including the festival drummers and dancers. There are many layers of lovely coloured glazes. The sides are painted in a red black tone, sealed and ready to hang.

MEDIUM

Acrylic on stretched canvas, sides painted and ready to hang.

SIZE

91cm (W) x 61cm (H) x 3.8cm (D)
