There is so much to love about koi. These beautiful fish, are symbolic of courage, perseverance & strength in times of adversity. I find them so mesmerising to watch, as they navigate through the water in such a frantically busy manner and I love to capture this on canvas. They are such a delightful subject to paint. In this painting, I have used multiple layers of coloured glazes, opaque paint and gold leaf embellishment. Finished with 2 coats of protective varnish and ready to hang.
