Tropical Reef Glass Vase
DESCRIPTION
Although I love to paint on canvas, I really do enjoy the challenge of painting on glass. On many occasions, I have worked on glass or mirrored surfaces. It can be tricky, but I find it very rewarding, as the colours almost float over the surface. The idea that art should only hang on walls doesn't really sit well with me, so I decided this square glass vase, would make the ideal 3D canvas to paint a colourful underwater reef. It has been primed, painted using quality acrylic paints and glass medium, and sealed with protective varnish. The rim has been embellished with gold paint. This impressionistic artwork makes a lovely table centrepiece, or sideboard ornament, especially lit up with a battery operated table light inside.
